The church of St. Margaret in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou is called The Baroque pearl of the Vysočina region. The church also has been a Czech Republic protected heritage monument since 2002. During 2019 to 2022, the church underwent big repairs which meant a salvage of its existence. Thanks to these repairs the church could be opened to the public with an option of guided tours through repaired premises which were inaccessible before.

The most valuable and beautiful part of the church is the 450-square-meter ceiling fresco. The creator of it is Karel František Antonín Tepper who painted the heaven of martyrs in there. The peak of the fresco is The God’s Eye in the height of 44 meters which is the creation of an academic painter master Jan Knor.

The original creations of master Otmar Oliva were added during the last repair. These creations hold deeper meaning in them which a visitor can find out about while visiting the church.

The visitors of the church can choose between two routes:

Route A (history of the church, the nave, the old sacristy, the duke’s oratory, the depository, balconies, the gallery with the organ)

Route B (history of the church, the nave, the old sacristy, the community center, the terrace)

The visitors can also visit the church’s tower with an exceptional view of the whole castle garden.

Regular masses take place on:

Sunday at 9:30AM (there is a friendly meeting after the mass until 12 PM) and at 7 PM, in winter at 6 PM.

Tuesday, thursday, friday at 7 PM, in winter at 6 PM at rectory

Wednesday at 7:30 AM

When the mass, wedding or a funeral is taking place, guided tours are not allowed.
